A Community of Support
We believe supporting neurodivergent individuals and families often takes more than one type of professional. That’s why we’re building a community of trusted providers who share a neuro-affirming approach. This allows us to connect people with the right support at the right time.
Our community includes professionals such as coaches, occupational therapists, medical providers, and other specialists who work independently but share our values and approach.
Because of licensing regulations, these providers are not part of our clinical practice. When appropriate, we connect individuals and families with trusted professionals in our broader community so they can access the additional support they need.
Building a Connected Community of Support
One of the reasons we created the Neurodiversity Center of Princeton was the need we saw to better connect the many forms of support that neurodivergent individuals and families rely on.
Care is often fragmented. Families are left navigating multiple providers and services without a clear, coordinated path forward. We aim to ease the burden of that experience by pointing families in the right direction and helping them more easily find to the support that is right for them.
A More Connected Approach
We provide clinical services including therapy and assessment, along with speaking, training, and consulting. At the same time, we are building a network of affiliated providers who offer complementary services such as coaching, occupational therapy, physical therapy, executive functioning support, and neuro-affirming medical care.
Unfortunately, many neurodivergent people have disappointing experiences interacting with various healthcare providers and organizations who do not understand their sensibilities. It might be a pediatrician who can't understand why a child fears having the doctor look in their ears, or receiving injections, or a dentist who always has a blaring TV set in the waiting or treatment area.
Anyone we recommend operates independently, outside of our clinical services, but shares a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming support.
Bringing It All Together
Our goal is to help individuals and families access the right mix of support across settings and to connect them with trusted providers when additional services are needed.
